Sync event tags to related records
You can have tags automatically synced to any linked impact, registrant or registration record. When you set sync to "yes", it will update all linked records. If you set it to "no" it will remove that tag from all linked records. Additionally, if you make a tag public and it's synced to impacts, then the end user will be able to search/filter those tags on their profile page.
For example: If you have a specific pathway (category, meta-data, tag, variable etc.,) you want to categorize everything with, let's say "food insecurity", when you create this tag as a "private" or "public" tag and associate it with an event called "Food Waste", all data (the registration record of the person registered to the Food Waste event, the user who registered, and the impacts collected of the user who attended), will be automatically categorized with this one tag. If the tag was set to "public", the end user can use the "get involved" search workflow, review or seek out events tagged with the word "food insecurity" and find "food waste" the event, and if they ended up registering and adding impacts to the event, it will appear on the user's impact with the "tag" food insecurity.
Note: For filtering purposes on the "Manage Impacts", the user can then populate and determine how many hours or impacts were created per "tag". So if the student wanted to see how many hours were accumulated for "food insecurity", they will be able to sort and filter out the impacts related to it b/c the events, registration records and impacts are all tagged automatically.
Note: When selecting Yes or No, there is a background process (may take a few mins) that will either link all records (impacts, users and registrations) with the tag or remove it.
Below is what you will see when navigating to the "Manage Events" section of your portal. This will allow you to select one or many events to tag in bulk.
When you decide to tag the specific event, you will then have the opportunity to update options to sync the tag with impacts, registrants, or registrations and additional determine if you want the tag to be used publicly or privately. If public this will allow end-users to see what is tagged and not. If it's private, that means the tags are used on the admin end.
