Testing is a crucial method to stopping the spread of COVID-19. While there remain challenges to testing, including limited test availability, delayed results, and false positives, testing still offers information that can help you and your community stay safe.
Remember, if you suspect you have been exposed to COVID, you should self isolate with or without a positive test. In the presence of symptoms, guidelines advise to stay home until the symptoms have resolved. Fever should be resolved for at least 3 days without requiring medication.

Reasons to consider getting tested include that you have traveled outside of the country, have been in contact with someone exposed to COVID, or have been having COVID symptoms. Use our flowchart below to help you make a decision. Always check with your primary care practitioner if you think you should be tested.
