When it comes time to create an event with shifts or a project with milestones, you may want to add specific pre and post-assessment questions for each individual shift or milestone, as well as questions that registrants will be prompted to answer regardless of what shift they sign up for. In this article, we breakdown how to add questions and custom fields to both the overall event and to individual shifts. Make sure that you've created your event with shifts in order to use the shift-specific question functionality!
Classic View:
Note: If you are creating a project with milestones, you can add milestone-specific pre and post-assessment questions in the same way described below during the project and milestone creation workflows.
Adding Pre-Assessment (Registration) Questions to Overall Event:
By going to Registration Questions from the left-hand menu during the event creation workflow, you can add custom fields to gather information from every registrant to answer upon signing up for the event.
Adding Post-Assessment (Impact) Questions to Overall Event:
Similarly, by going to Impact Questions from the left-hand menu during the event creation workflow, you can add custom fields to gather information from every registrant to answer upon recording their hours/adding an impact for the event.
Adding Pre and Post-Assessment (Registration and Impact) Questions to Individual Shifts/Milestone:
Once you have selected that you are creating an event with shifts, you will be prompted to add Shifts, which you can do by selecting Shifts from the left-hand menu in the event creation workflow and then using the blue Actions button to click +Add.
You will then be brought to a page where you can fill in shift/milestone details. On the top bar, you will see tabs for both registration (pre-assessment) and impact (post-assessment) questions.
Once you've added your Milestones, you can use the Actions drop menu to Rearrange Order.
If you click into one of these tabs, you will see a screen that looks similar to the Registration Questions and Impact Questions tabs for the entire event. However, adding custom fields here will only add the fields to the individual shift.
New View:
During the event creation flow you will come to the registration form. This area will require the user/volunteer to answer regardless of which shift they picked.
