What is the 500-word max limit?
Each response field in the application is limited to 500 words.
Do URLs or links count toward the word limit?
Yes. Each link or URL is counted as one word. You may include links where the question explicitly requests them, and they can be separated by spaces. (Pro Tip: Use a URL generator to shorten URLs)
Why don’t I see an input box for Yes/No questions?
Some Yes/No questions will not display an input field until a selection is made. Once selected, the input field will appear for further explanation.
Can I add collaborators to the application?
Yes, you may add as many collaborators as needed. All collaborators must log in to access and contribute to the application.
Can I format responses to the application?
No, responses to the application will not support text formatting or tables. Inputs should be plain text and links (if requested—we recommend using a URL shortener). All other formatting, including tables, will be removed so that all content is displayed consistently for reviewers.

What browsers are supported?
The application works across all major browsers. For best performance, we recommend using an updated browser like Chrome or Safari.
Why is the submitter’s name missing?
Applications require login for access. The individual purchasing and submitting the application will automatically be listed as the primary point of contact.
I purchased it but don't know where the application is.
If you’ve purchased access but don’t know where to find your application:

You should have received an email notification with a direct link to your application.

Access requires a unique email address and login. Once logged in, you’ll be able to edit the application and add collaborators.

If you've already created an account and password, you can log in and navigate to your User Dashboard → Activity → Surveys to access the application.

📄 Application Versions & Notifications
Is the online application the most updated version?
Yes. The online version (hosted on GivePulse) is the most current. Any planning documents provided by CUEI are for reference only.
When are partner notifications sent?
Partner notifications are sent once you enter both the name and email of the partner in the “Partnership” section. To delay the notification, leave the name and email fields blank until you're ready.
I didn't get any emails to join CUEI or a link to the application. In these instances, if you haven't received a notification, we recommend you check under spam/junk or another folder. Verify you can receive emails from notification@givepulse.com and ask your IT to whitelist givepulse.com as a safe-sender.

Specific FAQs for application questions:
"Percent change in courses since last application": To answer this, you will need the following (note the below are examples):
2010: 8123 courses total, 370 SL courses = 4.5% of total courses
2017/18: 9281 courses total, 712 SL courses = 7.7% of total courses
Percent change in courses since last application = 7.7%-4.5% = 3.2%

How to Access The Carnegie Application:
The individual purchasing and submitting the application will automatically be listed as the primary point of contact. You can log in and navigate to your User Dashboard → Activity → Surveys to access the application.
If you haven’t received any emails, please check your spam, junk, archive, or other folders. Make sure your email settings allow messages from notification@givepulse.com, and ask your IT department to whitelist givepulse.com. If you're still experiencing issues, contact us at carnegie@givepulse.com, and someone from our team will assist you in locating your institution's application.
