Carnegie Classification Application FAQs

Below are common questions or statements regarding the application and its process. 

What is the 500-word max limit? Each input on the application will have a 500-word max limit.

What do URLs or Links count as? You can add URLs and Links to your application when the question specifically asks for the links. Links and URLs can be separated with a space. Each link/URL will be counted as a word in the 500-word max limit.

I don't see the No/Yes display input box. There are some No/Yes questions that will not by default have an input box by default. When you select a choice, it will then prompt the input box.

How many Collaborators can I add? You can add as many collaborators as you would like to the application. 

What Modern Browsers should I use? The application works with all browsers but we would suggest a modern browser like Chrome or Safari.

Submitter's name is missing? The application requires authentication and login to access. Whoever is submitting the application is by default the primary point of contact. 

Is the Online Application the most recent update? The planning document displayed on CUEI's site is a planning document. The most updated online application is online, supported by GivePulse. 

When does the Adding Partners Notification go out? Once you input the name and email of the partner in the "partnership" grid. You can bypass the email notification until you believe you are ready by not filling out the name and email of the partner. Note: The partner will receive a notification to complete the survey on their partnership with you at the institution.

I purchased it but don't know where the application is. You should have received a notification that includes a link to the application for you. You would also need to a unique email and login to access the application to make edits and add collaborators. Note, if you have already set up an account and password, you can navigate into your Dashboard -> Surveys: There should be a link to access the application there. 

I didn't get any emails to join CUEI or a link to the application. In these instances, if you haven't received a notification we recommend you 1) double check your email settings 2) check under spam/archive/junk/promotional or some other folder that might the emails might be filtered into 3) if not 1 or 2 then we recommend asking your IT team to see how you can whitelist givepulse.com emails

Specific FAQs for application questions:

"Percent change in courses since last application": To answer this you will need the following (note the below are examples): 

2010: 8123 courses total, 370 SL courses = 4.5% of total courses

2017/18: 9281 courses total, 712 SL courses = 7.7% of total courses

Percent change in courses since last application = 7.7%-4.5% = 3.2%
