There could be several different reasons you're seeing a decline error message or your donation won't go through.
This article will cover the following:
Common Reasons for Donation Failures
The following are common reasons for why donations/payments sometimes fail:
- The credit/debit card is out of date: If the card you have on file doesn't have your current billing address or is expired, it will be declined.
- The credit/debit card has not been activated/confirmed: Depending on your financial institution, you may need to confirm/verify your card before being able to use it.
Tips for Troubleshooting Donation Failures
We recommend the following tips for troubleshooting any donation errors:
- Contact your card company and/or banking institution: Often times, your banking institution will be able to identify the problem and provide a solution for you. To protext your privacy, your debit or credit card company or card issuer doesn't tell GivePulse or payment processors (Stripe, Authorize.net, etc.) why your card was declined.
- Contact GivePulse Support: We're happy to work with you to investigate issues when donation errors occur. Please feel free to Submit a Support Ticket to get in contact with us.
