Promoting an event is important if you want to do the following:
- Display an event you would like to share on your group page
- Display an event at the top of the list/queue
To promote an event, you must log in and be a group admin.
New View
Navigate to the event you wish to manage and click the megaphone icon on the top right, across from the event title.
Following this, you'll be able to select which groups you want the event promoted to. Note: you can only select from the groups that you manage.
The admin of the event in question will have to approve this before it will be promoted. When you are also the admin of the event, it will automatically be approved. After the event has been promoted, you'll see it appear at the top of your opportunities list with a star icon in the top right of the listing.
If you decide not to promote an event anymore you can remove it from your group's manage page. Select "Manage Events" then navigate to the "Promoted Events" tab. Then you can use the actions drop-down to "Unpromote" the event.
Classic View
Once logged in, for any event you view inside GivePulse, on the right sidebar, you will be able to see a button to "Promote" (as indicated below). Note, this will only exist for events that are "public" and not set as private events.
Once you promote an event, you will then be prompted the option to promote it across the different groups you are an admin of. Note: The admin of the event in question will have to approve this before it will be promoted. When you are also the admin of the event, it will automatically be approved.
Promoted events will appear in your events list with a 'Promoted' tag in green.
