Institutions using Handshake to organize internship opportunities can create a RSS feed that syncs those internships over into GivePulse.

What does the RSS Feed with Handshake Do?
The RSS Feed automatically creates and syncs internship records from Handshake into GivePulse. Internships will populate under the Internships tab and be visible for students to browse and apply.
When a user clicks on an internship, they'll see the information that was synced over from Handshake. When a user clicks Apply, they will be redirected to Handshake to apply for the internship.
Notes about Using the RSS Feed
- The sync is one-directional and Handshake is the record of truth. If an internship record needs to be updated, updates must be made in Handshake. Any updates made in GivePulse will be overwritten during the next sync.
- The user listed as the Group's Organizer from Handshake will be assigned the Internship organizer in GivePulse.
- A maximum limit of 200 items will sync per feed.
- By default, a sync happens every 24 hours.
- Internship formatting will match from Handshake to GivePulse.
- If a new internship appears in the RSS feed, an internship record is automatically created or updated.
- If an internship record no longer exists in the RSS feed, the internship in GivePulse will be closed.
- If an internship reappears, the feed will open the new internship in GivePulse.
-
If a student indicates they did an internship on their Handshake profile, they still will need to input that data in GP separately because the only data transferring from Handshake to GivePulse are the opportunities in the RSS feed. We recommend indicating students to log activity to GivePulse as needed for the internship.
