Group Roles for Volunteers and Users

As a volunteer or another type of participant in community engagement, you will be interacting with groups in a variety of ways. Through these interactions, you are able to learn more about opportunities within the group and also able to seek out and message your peers. This will help cultivate relationships when helping the community.

Below is an example of what you may see in the group page, a section displaying people you may or will meet. 

By clicking on one of these people, you will be directed to a page where you can then message that user. 

Below are some of the primary ways that you can interact with a group: 

Registrant: In many cases, you are able to seek out and register for events without being a part of a group. This allows you to engage with individual volunteer opportunities. 

Participant: Even without registering for events, you are able to show that you have participated with a group by adding an impact (adding hours, etc). 

Member: If you click "Join Group," you will become a member, which may give you access to private events and allow you to keep better track of a group's activities.
