Registration lock codes add another level of security for admins when listing an event. Lock codes can be created for an entire event or for a specific shift. When a user attempts to register for an event with a lock code, they will be required to enter that code before completing their registration.
Subscription Note: Lock Codes are available starting at the GiveJoy subscription level.
This article will cover the following information:
Create a Lock Code for an Event:
An event registration lock code is a setting under Edit Event > Registration Settings. Event admins can create this code to keep the event private or exclusive to others. Only people who know the code can register for the event. It's a way to control who gets access and keep the event secure and limited to the right participants.
You can find this setting if you scroll past Guest Registration and Minors:
After setting the lock code, you can use the invite link on the Event Dashboard:
PRO TIP: You will need to make your Event Private - Group Only if you wish to invite guests to the event to register without creating an account on GivePulse.
The user will be asked to enter the registration code to view the event when you share the Shareable Link for a Private Event.
Create a Lock Code for a Shift
Lock codes can also be generated for specific shifts. After creating the shift, navigate to the shift settings. Under "More Settings," you'll find a dropdown menu where you can generate a lock code for that particular shift. Only users with the correct lock code will be able to register for this date or shift.
