Custom fields are stored within your system once created. Different from custom fields, these fields can be modified by admins (depending on how they were created), record response across the platform, and be added to multiple different events.
You can reference these user created fields as existing saved fields. This article will explore:

How to Access Existing Saved Fields
Admins can access existing saved fields from the following locations:
- Within the Custom Field module located on the left
- Registration or impact Form builder (events, surveys)
Admins can expose these pre-existing fields when creating an event or survey.
Copying or Re-Using Existing Saved Fields
You can also choose to duplicate events or surveys in your network and select how custom fields should be duplicated.
For duplicating custom fields, you have 2 options:
- Re-use existing fields: This option is useful for viewing responses across multiple forms in one place. If any changes are made, this will affect every form that this question is on.
- Create copies of each field: This option is useful for making changes to the field without affecting the existing forms that this question is on.
