Spotlighting is a way to highlight another group (including affiliates, subgroups) an event, a cause, or an outside project on your group’s page. When you spotlight something you can upload a unique image, title, and text to display.
You can choose up to 20 different things to spotlight. They will show up in a slideshow viewer that automatically transitions every 5 seconds. If you do not give each item a unique order number they will be random.
Note that Classic and New View are the same when creating a Spotlight. To create a spotlight on a group’s page, you must have admin privileges for the group. Go into the group dashboard and click “More Tools” on the left side. In the dropdown menu, select “Spotlight.”
On that page click “Create New Spotlight”.
Fill out the information needed. If you are creating a spotlight for an event that is already created, the information will transfer in for you.
Upload the image from your computer to be displayed on the front page of your group. All spotlight images should be 1280px by 440 and can be either JPG, PNG, or GIF format. The title and text will be displayed as shown:
If choosing to spotlight more than one event, you can select what order they are displayed in. If no order is chosen, they will be displayed randomly. To select the display order, hit the number located in the 'Order' section. You can select from one through twenty. When you have selected your number, hit the blue arrow to save your choice.
- To edit your spotlight, hit the pencil icon.
- To delete your spotlight, hit the trash can icon.
Your spotlight section will then be highlighted on your group's page underneath the 'About' section.
